Pininfarina Extra has designed the innovative interior of the Sukhoi Superjet 100, the aircraft developed by Alenia Aeronautica which has established itself over the years as the most up-to-date and environment-friendly 95-seat regional transport jet on the market.

The philosophy adopted by Alenia and Pininfarina when they designed the interior of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 was based on the passenger’s needs.
The general layout of the cabin of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 is inspired by principles of ergonomics and visual comfort, blending aesthetics with scientific, technological and engineering research.
The cabin of the aircraft is more spacious and relaxing than that of most other aircraft in the same category.
The password of the project developed by Pininfarina is well-being: the LED lighting system is able to vary the colour and intensity of the light at the various stages of the flight; the sober, elegant design of the ceiling is in harmony with the environment thanks to scrupulous selection of the materials, the finishes and the chromatic balance.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the first fruit of the collaboration between Pininfarina Extra and Alenia. It is a futuristic, visionary project, conceived entirely around the customer’s needs, to produce a new way of enjoying the experience of travelling.
Inside the aircraft, design and practicality take concrete shape in a spacious, elegant environment. Passengers will appreciate the interior as soon as they cross the threshold, thanks to an entrance that was designed expressly to make their first contact with the aircraft easy and pleasant, transmitting a sense of welcome and relaxation.
The project was developed by Alenia Aeronautica, a member of the Finmeccanica group of companies, and by Pininfarina Extra as part of a long-term collaboration which covers experimentation, aerodynamics, the development of mock-ups and 3-D modelling.
