The Ferrari P4/5 is a one-off model created by Pininfarina for the American collector James Glickenhaus.
It was a unique project in its way, which started from an Enzo Ferrari and resulted in the creation of an extreme sport racing car: not a simple show-car, but a car that could drive on the road.

An initial stage of analysis and stylistic research evolved into the definition of the surfaces and the construction and assembly.
Over 200 components were developed specifically, with constant interaction between styling and technical design, with bi-xenon headlights, alloy rims and visible aluminium and stainless steel hinges.
The lines of the car are expressed in the soft muscularity of the body, which is built entirely of carbon. The front reveals both aerodynamic practicality and stylistic novelty in the tapered profile; the central volume is dominated by the single-shell windscreen, and passengers access the interior through two butterfly-wing doors. The rear end has powerful wings, into which the drop-shaped transparent rear window is set, also serving as an engine cover.
The stylistic intervention also involved the interior, which was completely re-designed following the client’s indications.
The project was launched at the request of James Glickenhaus, a collector with a particular predilection for the legendary racing cars of the 1960s.
A close symbiosis emerged between the client and Pininfarina, during the process that led to the definition of the model.
The Pininfarina Aerodynamic and Aeroacoustic Research Centre in Grugliasco played an important role, focussing aerodynamic studies and continuous tests on the search for high performance and the perfect practicality of all the components.
